FsStudioREC for MSFS 2024

Record your flight. Replay it inside the simulator.

FS Studio REC records everything your aircraft does and plays it back inside Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Not a video: the real aircraft, flying the real flight again, with the flaps, the gear, the throttles and your own hands on the yoke.

Flight Simulator lets you fly. It does not let you look back.

FS Studio REC records your flight as it happens, then plays it back inside the simulator itself. The aircraft returns to the runway, takes off again and flies the exact flight you flew. This is not a screen recording. It is your aircraft, in your cockpit, with the physics handed over to the recording: the flaps move to the detents you selected, the gear comes up when you raised it, the throttles slide where you pushed them, and the yoke moves under your hands. Sit in the cockpit and you are watching yourself fly.

Everything runs from a panel in the MSFS toolbar. Open it, press Start recording, fly. When you land, the flight is in your library.

Replay that shows the whole aircraft

Most replay tools give you a trajectory. FS Studio REC replays the controls as well: trajectory, attitude and speeds; flaps at the exact detent, including aircraft whose detents are not evenly spaced; landing gear; spoilers and speedbrakes; yoke, rudder and elevator, so the pilot's own inputs are visible from inside the cockpit; throttles, and reverse thrust on landing; exterior lights (navigation, beacon, strobes, taxi, landing, logo and wing); autobrake selector.

Pause anywhere, jump to any moment, loop the whole flight, or slow it down to study a landing.

A timeline that reads like a flight

The timeline is data, not thumbnails. Altitude and airspeed as curves, flaps as bars whose height follows the detent, and coloured bands for the gear, the spoilers, the reverse thrust, the autopilot and the landing lights. Each layer has a button: show the ones you are studying, hide the rest. Your choice is remembered.

Hover the curve to read the exact altitude and speed at that instant. Drop a marker on any moment worth coming back to and give it a name. Name the flight itself while you are at it.

Two screens built for looking closely

Flight details gathers the numbers that matter: duration, distance, maximum altitude, aircraft, departure and arrival, outside conditions, plus the statistics of the recording itself.

Performance is a live instrument dashboard: indicated, true and Mach speeds, altitude and height, vertical speed, pitch, bank and G load on a real attitude indicator, engine N1 and N2, fuel flow and fuel remaining, wind on a compass rose, and the autopilot targets. It only shows the blocks that make sense for the aircraft you loaded: a single piston engine has no N1 to display.

Screenshots, without leaving the cockpit

One key takes a screenshot and files it with the flight. The gallery keeps them together, and the key is yours to choose.

Room to work

The panel sits over the cockpit, and its transparency is adjustable so you can keep flying through it. When one screen is not enough, Open on second screen puts the whole panel in a window on your second monitor and leaves the simulator alone.

In your language

French, English, German and Spanish, switched instantly from the options. Fuel in gallons and gph, or kilograms and kg/h, whichever you think in.

Requirements

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Windows 10 or Windows 11. The FS Studio REC companion application, installed by the same installer and running alongside the simulator. A licence key, supplied with your order.

The installer places the panel in your Community folder and the companion application on your PC. Nothing else to configure.

Good to know

We would rather tell you before you buy.

FS Studio REC records the aircraft, not the weather. Outside temperature and wind are stored; clouds and precipitation are not, so the sky during a replay is the sky of the day you watch it.

Departure and arrival are given as coordinates, not as ICAO codes. The product carries no airport database.

A two position hardware switch on your joystick or throttle quadrant asserts its position continuously and will override the replay. The gear lever is the usual culprit: leave it in the retracted position before starting a replay.

A few third party aircraft intercept the simulator's controls to handle them internally. FS Studio REC takes the route each aircraft accepts, but a given add-on can always block one. Tell us the aircraft and the control and we will look at it.

Recording and replaying at the same time is refused, on purpose: it would record a flight that never happened.
