v1.0.8.7 Coming Soon— September 27, 2026⌄

Soon update

The panel opens on a tablet, a phone or another PC.

An "Open on tablet" button appears under "Open on second screen". The device must be on the same Wi-Fi network as the PC, and it is the full panel that shows up: library, timeline, gallery, replay. You can start a recording and replay a flight from another device. I personally use a Dell laptop whose screen folds into a tablet, and it is excellent when you only have one screen.

Two ways to connect, depending on the device.

On a tablet or a phone, scan the code shown on screen with the camera and the page opens. On another computer, which has no camera pointed at your screen, type in the address shown and then the six digit code displayed just below it. After five wrong codes the access closes by itself, you simply reopen it from the panel.

Windows asks for permission the first time, and only once.

On your first click on "Open on tablet", the firewall shows "Do you want to allow public and private networks to access this app". Answer yes: without that permission your tablet cannot reach the PC. The question never comes back afterwards, and it is never asked of those who do not use this feature.

Nothing leaves your local network, and nothing opens without you. The access only exists from the moment you click, it closes when you decide, and the code changes every time it is opened. Your device is then recognised on its own, so you do not have to type the code again.

All your screens show the same thing.

Open a flight on the tablet and it opens in the simulator panel too. Start the replay from the couch and it appears on the PC. Delete a flight on one side and it disappears on the other.
Wheels no longer turn under a stationary aircraft. During a replay, an aircraft standing at the gate or holding still kept its wheels turning, faster and faster as time passed. The simulator was building up a speed that nothing displayed. It is now cancelled continuously, parking brake set or not.

Taxiing no longer hops. On some flights the aircraft moved in jerks while taxiing, with jumps that stopped dead on pause and came back on resume. The restored speed drifted a few knots above the one in the flight, with much larger spikes. It is now imposed exactly, and the slowdown to a standstill happens in one continuous movement.

v1.0.8.6— September 27, 2026Latest⌄

Latest update

Wing flex is now replayed. Until now, a replayed takeoff showed a straight wing where the flight had seen it bend under load. Replay freezes the aircraft, and the lift that curves the wing disappeared with it. The curve of both wings is now recorded during the flight and restored frame by frame, so at rotation the wing rises the way it did. Verified on the PMDG 737 and 777, 737 MAX 8 V2, Asobo Plane. It applies only to flights recorded from this version onwards, and only to aircraft that animate their own wings.

v1.0.8.5— September 20, 2026⌄

Latest update

A zoom setting now appears in the Options. The interface scales from 100 % down to 50 % in steps of ten, and your choice is kept from one session to the next. Useful on a busy screen, or simply when the panel takes up too much room in front of the cockpit.

The simulator window can finally be made smaller. Its size floor was set to a value that, on large monitors, took up almost the full width. It comes down by twenty per cent, and the window now resizes with the mouse in both directions, height as well as width.

v1.0.8.4— September 15, 2026⌄

Latest update

The iFly 737 MAX 8 is now supported. FS Studio REC reads its controls from the aircraft itself rather than through generic simulator commands: landing lights left and right with all three positions, OFF, FLASH and ON, runway turnoff, taxi, logo, anti collision, wing, wheel well and the three detent position selector. A green badge confirms the link as soon as the aircraft is loaded.

The windshield wipers and the cockpit lighting follow too. Each blade is replayed independently with its four positions, PARK, INT, LOW and HIGH, and the DOME WHITE switch returns to DIM, OFF or BRIGHT. Add to that the flap lever detent by detent, the gear lever, the parking brake and the autobrake from RTO to MAX.

The landing gear now extends when a replay puts your aircraft back on the runway. This was not an iFly issue: the large default airliners of MSFS 2024, Boeing and Airbus alike, behaved the same way, because the simulator refuses to deploy the gear while the aircraft sits on the ground. FS Studio REC lifts the aircraft by a few centimetres for the duration of the extension and sets it back down once the gear is locked, telling you on screen while it happens. Your gear switch must be in neutral during this step.

All four manuals now carry the complete list of what is replayed, aircraft by aircraft, for the PMDG 737, the PMDG 777 and the iFly 737 MAX 8.
